Amateur filmmaker Charles Scott made films for over 50 years, forming one of the most important “grass roots” collections showing events in and around Norfolk.

Charles also filmed some informal footage of his family and friends –having a picnic in Earlham Park, for example, followed by skipping and races. His shots of a holiday, show donkey rides on the beach. The boy playing the piano is his son, Norman, with the family providing an appreciative audience. Charles continued to film during the war and right through to the seventies. Norman makes numerous appearancesin the collection as he grows older.
